A PayLynk (payment request link) allows counterparties to make partial payments toward the total requested amount. A receipt will be generated for each successful payment. Once the total requested amount has been fully paid, the payment will be completed.
When making the remaining payment, the handling of excess funds may differ depending on whether the payment is made in USDT or USD via SWIFT transfer. The example below illustrates these differences.
Example: There is a payment request for USD 10,000.
Paying in USDT
The counterparty makes a partial payment of 500 USDT.
The counterparty then sends 600 USDT to complete the remaining amount.
The system will auto-debit only the required amount (500 USDT) to complete the outstanding amount
The excess 100 USDT will remain in the counterparty’s auto-debit dynamic wallet and can be used for future payments.
Paying in USD (SWIFT transfer)
The counterparty makes a partial payment of USD 500.
The counterparty then sends USD 600 to complete the remaining amount.
As banks are generally unable to split incoming transfers, the USD 600 will be returned.
The counterparty will need to send the exact remaining amount of USD 500, or make a payment that does not exceed the outstanding balance.
